About Us

G M R Institute of technology has come into existence in 1997 and has carved a niche for itself in the corporate world having inbuilt value system in providing quality education in the region creating a legacy. It has been notified as Deemed to be university under sec (3) of UGC act 1956 in January 2026 by Ministry of Education, Government of India wide letter No. 9-13/2024-U.3(A) dated 19th January 2026. Founded by GMRIT foundation, a subsidiary of GMR Varalakshmi Foundation, a CSR arm of the GMR group a leading Indian infrastructure conglomerate with a diversified presence across Airports, Energy, Transportation, and Urban Infrastructure, and Sports.

GMRIT University is a residential campus located in a serene and beautiful area spanning 170 acres, at Rajam, about 100 kms from Vizag, Andhra Pradesh. With the empowered teaching and learning environment, University instils the core values and nurture multidisciplinary learning environment and provide global opportunities. University produces graduates who can work through constraints, adapting to changing global environment and expectations from all the stakeholders.
