GMR Institute of Technology (GMRIT), established in 1997, has a distinguished legacy of nearly three decades in technical education. Located at Rajam, Andhra Pradesh, the institution was founded with a vision to deliver quality engineering education supported by strong ethical values and societal commitment.

Over the years, GMRIT has evolved into a mature academic institution known for its structured academic practices, experienced faculty, modern infrastructure, and strong industry engagement. The institute emphasizes outcome-based education, collaborative learning, and real-world relevance.

In 2026, GMRIT was accorded the status of Deemed to be University, marking a natural progression in its academic journey. This transition enhances academic autonomy while preserving the institution's legacy and core values established since 1997.
