Knowledge Resource Centre (Library)

The Knowledge Resource Centre along with eight departmental libraries collectively support the teaching, research and extension programmes of the Institute. All students, faculty members and employees of the Institute are entitled to make use of the facilities on taking library membership. The Knowledge Resource Centre has subscription to online journals of IEEE(ASPP), ASME, ASCE, ScienceDirect (Elsevier), J- GATE (Engineering and Technology) N-LIST, NDLI and DELNET. The online journals are access through DELTA R5 Server.

LIBRARY COMPUTERIZATION

The Knowledge Resource Centre uses LIBSYS7 software Package, which is an integrated multi-user library management system that supports all in-house operations of the Library. The LIBSYS consists of modules on Acquisition, Cataloguing, Circulation, Serials, Article Indexing and OPAC. Retrospective conversion of bibliographic records has been completed and more than 69722 bibliographic records of books available in the Knowledge Resource Centre can now be accessed through the LIBSYS OPAC AND WEB OPAC. The database of books available in the Knowledge Resource Centre is being updated on day to day basis with details of recently acquired books records of all the library patrons have also been created in the LIBSYS7 Package. To strength our circulation system for accuracy and speeding up of operations Barcode and Biometric Technology is in place.

DIGITAL LIBRARY

The Digital Library is having 50 computers connected on LAN with internet and allows browsing the internet for Academic purpose. The Knowledge Resource Centre has subscription to IEEE (ASPP), ASME, ASCE, ScienceDirect (Elsevier), N-LIST, NDLI, J- GATE (Engineering and Technology) and Developing Library Network (DELNET). The online journals are accessed through DELTA R5 Server. Digital Library also has 1241 general educational CDs, DVDs and 475 SONET CDs, 1839 E-Books- Pearson Education and IEEE-Wiley eBooks Library.
