Emerging Nano materials For Engineering Applications Group

Preamble

In view of rapid urbanization and enhanced industrial activities, natural resources are getting depleted at an abrupt rate. In order to promote the reusability of materials, newer materials, processes and products are highly desirable. This research group focuses on the development of products and systems which are economically and environmentally sustainable. This group is also focused on synthesis and characterization of Nano crystalline materials, studies on blends of nano-coatings, composite materials and smart materials for the industrial and real time applications.

• Recycling of rubber waste generated in airport
• Completed DST-SERC Research Project entitled" Investigations on cutting tools with an array of Nano- films and their performance evaluation"
• Project titled "Development of lead free Nano composite Dielectric for high energy storage application" is submitted to Nano Mission.
• Project titled " Thermal Barrier Coating " is submitted to AICTE. Performance evaluation of Nano- crystalline solid lubricants in the machining of hardened steel.
