INSTITUTE LEVEL RESEARCH GROUPS
Renewable Energy Sources & Management Group
Preamble
Continuous escalation of petroleum prices and the negative impact of fossil fuels on the environment have put tremendous pressure on the society to search for comprehendible renewable energy resources. Under the circumstance, intensified and emerging research in the area of renewable energy technology including processes such as anaerobic digestion, fermentation, trans-esterification, pyrolysis, gasification, and combustion makes a great sense. Presently, at GMRIT we are focusing on two of the above-mentioned processes viz. anaerobic digestion and trans-esterification. As the number of implementations of diversified renewable energy generation units like Solar, Wind, Biomass etc., are continuously growing they need to be connected to distribution grids. This group collaboratively works towards addressing research issues related to smart grid.
