Overview
Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the world's largest educational and scientific computing society dedicated to:.
❖ Advancing the art, science, engineering, and application of information technology
❖ Fostering the open interchange of information to serve both professionals and the public
❖ Promoting the highest professional and ethical standards.
ACM provides the tools and resources to help get you there, by advancing your career and enriching your knowledge with life-long learning resources. An individual can avail these resources by joining the ACM community.
GMRIT ACM STUDENT CHAPTER is a student driven body started on 26th August 2016. The main motive of our chapter is to advance the challenging engineers in advanced technology and help in working out with real-time applications. This chapter commenced distinct activities which aims at the benefit of the engineering students of GMRIT and other institutions as well. Computer Science is considered by many of its practitioners to be a foundational science, the one which makes other knowledge and achievements possible. So, ACM Student Chapter brings awareness on how actually computer science is linked with the real world and how we can explore it through it. Our student community along with guidance of teaching enthusiasts conduct various workshops, technical events and also webinars to make the students learn everything practically so that it gives them immense support and encouragement when they step into the corporate world. Recently, Special Interest Groups (SIG's) were introduced to enable the people to share expertise and innovation in their specific areas of interest. Each SIG has members who work on the same domain. The members of a SIG help their successors in learning contemporary technologies that strengthen their technical competency. The coordination among the members is the best sign of progress. GMRASC was recognized by ACM INDIA as the BEST STUDENT CHAPTER in India for the year 2019.
Objectives
To promote Computer Science among students of all disciplines.
To improve technical competency and creative thinking among the students for sustainable growth.
To promote research and application development at undergraduate level.
To promote entrepreneurial orientation among the student community.
To support local communities outside the institution.
