HAM Club

Overview

Amateur (HAM) Radio is both a Hobby activity and Service. It is an activity of self-learning, inter-communication & technical investigation carried on the duly authorized persons (i.e. Amateur Radio Operators) for a personal aim and without pecuniary interest. GMR Institute of Technology started HAM club in the year 2106 and providing training for Amateur Radio Operators to qualify in an examination conducted by the Ministry of Communications & IT, Government of India and obtain license for operating/possessing a Radio Station. Every year Minimum 100 students are qualified and get them licenses as a radio operator.

To promote amateur radio operation.

To install and operate repeater stations.

To assist in training for obtaining radio amateur licenses.

To provide recreation activities for society members.

To provide upon request voluntary radio communication service to the public in emergencies and disasters.
